Dear Mrs. Barco and Susan,
I knew Lynn from our days at Scribners bookstore in Williamsburg. I remember visiting her Va Beach home and how kind you and her Dad were to us, and that we got a nice tour of the aquarium from Susan. I hadn't heard from Lynn in some time, but out of the blue was thinking of her and looked her up online. Sadly, this is the news that I found. I am truly saddened, and want you to know you are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Ruth (Sullivan) Bedore

I knew Lynn briefly but had such a great time with her when we were together. She had a fantastic sense of humor and taste in music (which is how I met her). She was always so much fun to be around and I wish I had spent more time with her.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Mrs. Barco and Susan,
Please accept my sincere condolences. Lynn and I were classmates at both Norfolk Academy and William and Mary. Unfortunately, I did not see the local obituary. Knowing her was a privilege.

Lynn sang the only song I ever wrote that ended up on a CD. Her voice was and will be cherished by me for the rest of my days.

My condolences to her family and to everybody else that Lynn got to know over the years.

Lynn offered me joy during sad and lonely times, making sure that laughter was always a part of any conversation. A couple years back she came up to NYC for Kristen HIrsch show. SHe loved KH with abandon, I think she may even have bought one of her guitars off ebay or something. Her passion and devotion to this one recording artist is something all of her friends can relate to. Lynn had that for everyone she loved. Concern, passion, and a devotion that really welcomed and embraced the quirkiness and uniqueness of us all. I didn't see Lynn that often but I always knew she was out there, thinking of me every once in awhile, waiting for that next time we'd get to refresh our connection. Well, now we'll just have to wait a little longer, but I'll keep holding that place in my heart for her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and carry us through. My prayers and thoughts go out to her mom and sister, the rest of her family and all of her friends.

Lynn was something else. She accepted the many foibles and failings of those she loved, and she loved fiercely and loyally.

She was easily the funniest person at any party she'd grace and yet she was just as happy sucking down books that looked too thick for my taste. But her favorite way to pass the time was a boon to anyone passing it with her - a small group of friends just flopping around her apartment, with Lynn relating an anecdote that would have been a lot less interesting at someone else's telling, or her insisting everyone watch some classic movie as an imperative.

And I was introduced to more great movies that way. And great food. And passed countless hours riffing with her until the laughing made my whole body ache. And we were still doing that not two weeks ago on the phone - she was never anything less than the irreplaceable, irrepressible Lynn for the two decades plus I was lucky enough to be her friend.

Thanks Ms. Barco and Susan for sharing her with me and the many other folks who loved her. She was my pal, and I'll miss her very much.

Dear Mrs. Barco and Susan,
I hope there is some comfort in knowing that Lynn was one of the best friends a person could have. She taught me so much about enjoying life and I credit my current career success to all that she taught me about fine living. I think about her all of the time and will never forget the huge impact she had on me and the great times we had together. She will be greatly missed.

For almost 23 years Lynn had been my confidante and one of my closest friends -- there to share good food, music, movies, books and life. I miss her so much and hope she is looking down and sending her warm happiness for those of us still on earth.

I never met you both but Lynn was one of the best friends I ever had - of 18 years. I'm schocked and saddened by the untimeliness, though I am sure Lynn is at peace in a better place and she won't suffer anymore as she had the past many years. My heart really goes out to you. See you saturday.
