Brian, Kate & Family,
We heard about Kellen's passing last night and are truly saddened by this tradegy. From the moment you moved in next door to us, I could tell he was a terrific kid - so polite and friendly. We will be thinking of your family and praying for you all. God Bless!

Kellen was someone I only got to know for a short time. He was in my speech class and was the most memorable person. I often spoke to Kellen and he always had a smile on his face. I will never forget the smile and the warmth that Kellen brought to this world. He was a genuine guy and gave eccentric speeches :)....
My thoughts and prayers are with Kellen's Family and friends! Be proud of Kellen and the impact he has made on so many people!

The Coatneys,
We were deeply saddened by the news of your son. Things in life happen without warning. Do not try and figure out why. God himself only knows. We share your grief as we lost our 20 year old son in 2002. Christy and I are friends of Sean and Mary and never met Kellen, but he will be missed by all that have known him.
Sincerely,
Doug and Christy Spindler

Dear Brian and Katie and all the Coatney family, It was just a few days ago that I learned of Kellen's accident. I can't begin to imagine the sorrow and pain your hearts must hold. Please know you are all in my thought and prayers. I only met Kellen once at your house and he was quite young. He must have grown into a very special young man after reading all the wonderful stories your friends have shared with you. Just know that tonight there is a new star shining in the heavens. God Bless you all Candy

Dear Coatney family, one memory that stood out for me about Kellen was when he used to come over and stay the weekends at Nate's and Brennan's. One time, he did our dishes wihtout being asked to and put the pots and pans in a cabinet where we normally didn't put them. We couldn't find them for a while untill we asked him. I remember thinking that this kid is going to be special and was so kind and helpful. I'll always remember him. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Brian and Kate,
Words cannot express the sorrow we have in our hearts. We are so honored to have met your precious son Kellen. In the short visit we had together we could see the preciousness of who Kellen was. My heart aches for you all. Elizabeth so enjoyed her foosball game with him! She remembers so much from their conversation together, he had so many wise words to share. He will be someone we will remember as a special young man. We will look forward to the day when we will meet again on the streets of gold.
Know that we will continue to lift your family to the Lord. You are so precious to us. Blessings, Ed and Colleen Flora

Dear Brian and Kate,
My heart shattered when I learned of the untimely death of your precious son Kellen. Although I never had the pleasure of personally knowing him, there are simply no words to express the pain and sorrow I felt upon hearing the news of your unthinkable loss. I can only imagine how devastating this must be for you and the rest of your family. As I am sure you know, the bond you have with Kellen will be with you forever, as long as you keep his memory and the love you share with him alive in your hearts.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad and difficult time.
Wishing you peace and healing,

To the Coatney family,
There are not words or deeds to help you in this time. Lucas and his family are so saddened by the loss of Kellen. Kellen had been talking with Lucas about enlisting in the U.S. Air Force as buddies. Kellen when he was in Eagan would always stop over and visit. It was not all that long ago he was over. His respectful demeanor, warm smile, sparkling blue eyes, and his hat, that he wore most of the time was so fitting of him. Kellen was a fine young man. He will be missed very much by his friends. Kellen's passing was on Lucas's birthday and has made it hard for Lucas to accept. Our deepets sympathy, thoughts, and prayers for comfort go out to the Coatney family.

Kellen, I cant believe that your gone. I didnt know you too well, only when you were dating my sister Ashley, but I do know that you were an amazing guy. You didnt deserve to be taken so young. You made a HUGE impact in my sisters life, in the sense that you were always caring and you always kept in touch with her. She had just talked to you a day or two before you passed, but I thank god that she did, because you meant so much to her. God bless you and your family, and I'll be praying for you all. We'll see you again someday Kellen. Rest in peace

Kellen you were an amazing friend. I will never forget how you always entered a room with a huge grin on your face. Or that famous high school catch phrase "fair enough." I have so many great memories of you that I will always treasure.

Dearest Katy, Brian, Brennan & Bridgette,
Years ago, I was sent the following consoling message, and I hope these words comfort you, too.
When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.
With my love and sympathy,

We are so sorry to read of the loss of your son Kellen. Words are not adequate, and for that please accept our apologies. We do know some about what you might be feeling as we lost our daughter Hailee this past August following a short illness. She was 11 years old. Although we know that nothing we can verbalize will help to ease your pain, please believe in the fact that others care and are praying for you as we are. May God Bless you all during this tragic time.

Dear Brian and Katie,
I cannot even image the pain you must be feeling. My son, Trent was a friend of Kellen's and sends his prayers of peace to you and your family. Kellen spoke to Trent a few years ago when he (Trent) was talking about enlisting in the Marines. He helped Trent achieve that goal and Trent is very grateful for that. He is stationed right now in North Carolina and is unable to express his condolences to you himself. So, I said I would do it for him. Kellen's warrior spirit will live on in the lives he's touched during his short time with his family and friends. We pray for the Lord to provided you with peace and extend our love to you and your family.
Sincerely,
