Anne P. Laffin

Anne P. Laffin, 86, a longtime Hyde Park resident, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born May 13, 1938, in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Helen Forbes Briggs.
Anne was a graduate of Rhinebeck High School, Dutchess Community College and the former Krissler Business Institute in Poughkeepsie. Before raising a family, she worked at Mobil Oil and IBM, East Fishkill.
On April 8, 1961, in Rhinebeck, she married Richard F. Laffin Sr. Mr. Laffin survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Margaret Laffin of Rhinebeck; son, Richard Laffin Jr. of Hyde Park; and two grandchildren, Madeline and Joshua Laffin, both of Massachusetts.
In keeping with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Anne loved to take walks at the Vanderbilt National Historic Site in Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers, the Laffin family respectfully requests memorial donations to Roosevelt - Vanderbilt National Historic Site.
