Captain Bryan "B-Ba" Keith Lewis, 43, of Hebron passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
He was the son of Jo-Ann (McKenney) Lewis of Nanticoke and the late Darryl Lewis. His wife is Shelby N. Lewis of Hebron.
B-Ba was a member of the James M. Bennett class of 1998 and later received his paramedic certification from Chesapeake College.
Bryan served the Salisbury Fire Department for 18 years in various capacities including Firefighter/Paramedic, Maintenance & Supply, and most recently as Lieutenant on Truck 2. Due to his strong work ethic and commitment to the fire department, he was honored with a posthumous promotion to the rank of Captain. He also had a passion for carpentry, a craft he learned by working with his father. He worked for Bradley Construction for several years. Prior to working for the SFD, Bryan was a 911 Dispatcher for Wicomico County Emergency Services and a volunteer for the Westside Fire Department. He was passionate about serving others and the community.
Bryan was an avid hunter. He loved being in the woods and was a true arborist at heart. Spending time with his friends and family was important to him. Bryan was the definition of a true friend and someone you could always count on.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include sister, Allison Foltz and her husband, Michael, of Hebron; two nieces, Ashley and Kiersten; and Maddox Harbour who he loved like a son.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, in Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the church. Burial will follow in Bivalve Cemetery, Bivalve, MD.
