Christian Franklin Lemley, born on June 30, 1967, in
Morgantown, WV to the late Oliver and Betty Gaskill Lemley. On the 9th of August, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, Christian peacefully passed away at his home in Maidsville, WV, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and loving memories.
With a life that spanned 58 years, Christian was a man of many passions and pursuits. He had a rewarding career as a Senior Draftsman, dedicating his professional life to American Consolidated Natural Resources, Murray Energy, and before that, lending his expertise to Consol Energy; a career spanning three companies over 25 years. His acute attention to detail and innovative spirit enabled him to leave a lasting imprint on every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Christian was a man who treasured the simple joys of life. His interests were as diverse as his talents, ranging from the adrenaline rush of riding his street bike and dirt bike in his younger years. Christian's later years saw him take pleasure in riding his side by side, a pastime that allowed him to explore the beauty of West Virginia's landscapes, encapsulating his love for the outdoors and adventure.
A master craftsman, he possessed a remarkable skill for woodworking. This creative outlet did not only lead to beautiful pieces of art but also to hours spent in his workshop where he found a serene kind of solace. Christian's heart was truly at home, in both a physical and emotional sense. He could often be found busying himself with various projects, making every corner of his abode a testament to his diligence and care. His home was not just a place of residence, but a cradle of memories, laughter, and love.
It is in the warmth of his family where Christian's spirit shone the brightest. He is survived by his daughters: Tasha Marie Zarilla, married to Joseph III of Albright, WV, and Kayla Dawn Lemley, of Morgantown; his partner of 15 years, Rhonda Carr; his grandchildren, Ayana Alt, Coralie Zarilla, Joseph "Callum" Zarilla, IV, Nevaeh Zarilla, Audrey Lemley, Brayla Simmons, and Brynley Simmons; his sisters, Belinda Benko, and Lynn Lemley, will fondly remember Christian as a brother who brought joy and comfort into their lives.
