Deborah Gresham Whittington

Deborah Gresham Whittington, aged 69, of Atlanta, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
She was born on Monday, February 22, 1954, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Peggi Jo and Carl James Gresham, as well as her loving husband, Raymond "Rip" Whittington, and her daughter, Virginia Burch.
Deborah, affectionately known as Mrs. Debbie, had a deep passion for quilting and dedicated her time as a volunteer firefighter. She found joy in these pursuits and generously shared her talents and selfless spirit with others. Mrs. Debbie was also a devoted Christian and an active member of Atlanta Baptist Church, where her faith provided solace and guidance.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tracy Stewart (B.W.) and Shirley Whittington; her son, Raymond "Troy" Whittington, Jr. (Brittany); her grandchildren, Morgan (Brady), Jessica, Andie, Wesley (Hannah), Laeton, Jackson, Grace, and Ryder ; as well as her two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, starting at 12:00 PM until the time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, with Rev. Chad James officiating. Following the service, interment will take place in the Atlanta Cemetery, where Deborah will be laid to rest.
