James Garner Rasberry, a native of Jackson Parish, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 71. James, as he was lovingly known to family and friends, was born in Jonesboro, Louisiana, on August 20, 1954, to Alton D. and Clara Bell Rasberry. A proud graduate of Weston High School, James found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time outdoors fishing and camping, taking long walks, and keeping active. He never met a stranger and was especially fond of sharing good conversation and a cup of coffee with friends.

James is survived by his sister, Mary Frith (Paul); nieces and nephews, Christina Dunn (Terry); Paul Frith, Jr. (Sue), Dolphus Frith, Sr. and Marty Frith; great nieces and nephews, Daniel Dunn (Amber), Devon Dunn (Mariah), Taylor Dunn and Dolphus Frith, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alton L. Rasberry; great nieces, Danielle Nicole Dunn and Mary Elaine Frith.

As per the family's wishes, James will be cremated. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home to help cover the cost of cremation. If you need further information, please call Southern-Edmonds at (318) 259-2345.
