Joshua Andrew "Drew" Williams, age 16, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport.
The Visitation for Drew will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hodge United Pentecostal Church. Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Bros. Justin Nelson and Jeff Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in Killen Cemetery in Moore, LA., under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wiley Joe McDaniel; paternal grandmother, Sharon Varnell Williams; and grandfather, George Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Tracy McDaniel Jones (Eric); father, Jason Williams (Deanna); stepmother, Amanda Gough; siblings, Jaycen Williams, Daniel McElwee, Jaylin Williams, Baylee Broomfield, and Brina Broomfield; grandmothers, Helen Estes Antee and Ginny Moore; paternal grandfather, James L. Williams; aunts and uncles, Sissy Nitz (Mike), Joe McDaniel, Mandy Nugent (Jason), Jamie Williams, Greg Jones (Amanda), and Stacey Jones Jarrell; and a host of extended family and friends.
Joshua Andrew Williams affectionately known as Andrew, Drew, Drewbie & Drewski was a senior at Weston High School where he was a member of the Wolves baseball team (#13); a member of the FCA club and Hodge United Pentecostal Church. You could always find him leading the morning prayer at school. He truly loved his church family and was very active in the youth group.
You could always find Drew with a smile on his face. His smile & personality was so infectious and contagious that a room would light up when he walked in. If he saw someone having a bad day, he would reach out to them and offer words of encouragement and bring out the best in them, even if he was telling one of his corny jokes. Drew was a kind selfless soul who was working for the Lord.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Jaycen Williams, Daniel McElwee, Cole Tolar, Sawyer Watkins, Bryce Zehr & Jacob Gill. Honorary Pallbearers are Damon Fee, Gavin Fee, Gavin Borland, Bradley Constance, Ryland Nation, Christian Edwards and the Weston High School Baseball Team.
Drew's favorite Bible verse:
Luke 4:4 - "And Jesus answered him, saying, it is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God"

I didn´t know Drew, you or anyone in his family. I am writing this because he has a contagious smile and from the picture he had a beautiful kind soul. I don´t know any of the circumstances but I can feel your pain. I cried for you today when I saw this, l guess because I hurt for you. I can´t imagine what you are going through. You see I have a grandson 14 that´s an awesome baseball player, even went to the World Series this year and got a beautiful ring. He has a heart of gold, a personality like no other and very mindful. We haven´t seen each other in 2 years. Your boy and him look so much alike. I pray that your pain and hurt are comforted somewhat by knowing someone on the outside cares.
