Donald Sexton, age 83, of Poplar Bluff, MO, died Friday, November 25, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. Mr. Sexton was born July 30, 1939 in Campbell, MO, son of the late Kenneth and Lois Sexton.
He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1959 and had served in the Air Force defense command during the Vietnam War. Donald worked for Combustion Engineers in St. Louis for 24 years. He also worked for Riggs Whoselale for 17 years and retired in 2001. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the American Legion post 153, Vietnam Veterans of America post 1056, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
On July 13, 1963 he married Lilly Pool. She survives. Also surviving are two sons: John T Sexton of Poplar Bluff and Tim (Erica) Sexton of Lee Summitt, MO; two daughters: Angela (Kevin) D. James of Arnold, MO and Gayle (Kelly) D. Fields of Poplar Bluff; one brother: Wilbur K. Sexton of Farmington, MO. And three grandchildren: Jessica (Josh) Poston, Matthew (Shelby) Bounds, Dawnita (Dustin) Bryant; several step grandchildren. And four great grandchildren: Raelynn Smith, Liam and Kysen Bryant and Rosemary Bounds. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one grandson Jeffery Sexton; one great grandchild: Jeffrey Poston; two brothers Michael and Harold Sexton and four sisters: Virginia, Shirley, Patricia and Doris.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday November 30, at White Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Capps officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Condolences: www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
