Donald Richard Sheff

Donald Richard Sheff, 63, of Macomb Township, Michigan, beloved husband of Mrs. Lynn Marie (née Ackerman) Sheff, loving father of Donald (Magdalena) Richard Sheff II and Arica Lynn Sheff, and master of his adored dog Newman, died suddenly of natural causes in the early morning of Holy Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Mr. Sheff was born in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Arthur Benjamin Sheff and Madaline Beth (née Leduc) Sheff, and brother to Lawrence Sheff and Mary Ann Domalski. He was a retired firefighter and small business owner. He received an associate degree from Macomb Community College, held Firefighter I & II and Emergency Medical Technician certifications, and was a skilled welder and mechanic.
Mr. Sheff deeply loved and cherished his wife and children beyond words. He first met his wife while she was training as a young nurse in a local hospital, and shortly thereafter they fell in love and were married. Their marriage was blessed beyond measure – with two children and a loving devotion to each other. He considered his greatest achievement to be his family.
Funeral visitation will be held at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr Rd., Sterling Heights, Michigan on Wednesday, April 12th from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with a recitation of the Rosary for the repose of Mr. Sheff's soul to take place at 7:00pm.
On Thursday, April 13th, Mr. Sheff's body will lie in repose from 9:30am to 9:50am at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Assumption Grotto), 13770 Gratiot Ave, Detroit, Michigan. A Requiem Mass celebrated by the Rev. Fr. John Bustamante will follow soon after at 10:00am.
