Viewing and visitation for Enedelia "Nellie" Covarrubias, 66 of Lubbock will begin Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. There will be a rosary beginning at 11:00 a.m. and funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. the same day with Daniel Garza officiating. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

In the early afternoon of January 4, 2024, Enedelia went to be with the Lord. She was born on September 20, 1957, in Donna, Texas to the late Felipe and Maria Montemayor. She was raised with love, laughter and made numerous childhood memories. In 1999, Enedelia went on to marry Mario Covarrubias in Lubbock cherishing twenty-five years of a loving marriage.

"Nellie's" dedication hard work was evident throughout her life. She spent numerous years working at Methodist Hospital; However, her determination did not stop there; she also worked as a packer for Frito Lay. Known to always to stay busy. She approached everything she did with enthusiasm and never shied away from lending a helping hand. Nellie's positive attitude was contagious, uplifting those around her in times of joy as well as in moments of hardship.

One of Nellie's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. They brought immense happiness to her heart, and she cherished each moment she had with them. Whether it was family gatherings or simple outings together, Nellie's love for her family knew no bounds.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Maria Montemayor; a son Natividad Carrizales Jr.; brothers Gonzalo

Montemayor and Daniel Montemayor; and sisters Porfiria M. Reina and Cruz Ramirez. 
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Mario Covarrubias of Lubbock; a brother, Ruben Montemayor of Lubbock; sisters Josefina Morales of Round Rock, Maria Mojica of Idalou, Inocencia Montemayor, Felipa Ramirez, Adelaida Montemayor, and Juana Casanova all of Lubbock; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
