Eric Glen Schmaltz, 58, of Buchanan passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
Eric will be laid to rest at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Glendora Roof Fund, 133 W. Glendora Road, Buchanan, MI 49107. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Eric was born on May 2, 1966 in St. Joseph to Arlyn and Charlotte (Backus) Schmaltz. He was a simple man who enjoyed fishing and gardening. Eric loved to tinker on many things and always enjoyed figuring out how things work mechanically.
Survivors include his son, Shane Schmaltz; mother, Charlotte Schmaltz; brother, Brian (Kim) Schmaltz; sister, Deanna (Dale) Robson; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Arlyn Schmaltz; and son, Jesse Schmaltz.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
