George Robert Swboni, Jr., 68, of Haileyville, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma to George and Marcella Swboni on October 22, 1954. He attended school in Hartshorne and lived there his entire life. He started filling nail holes for his uncle Hobo's drywall company when he was a teenager. After a few years he opened his own drywall business, and it was said he was the best sheetrock finisher in the country. Although he traveled many states doing drywall work, he considered Hartshorne his home. He bought his first house in Dow where he lived until the last few Months. After his youngest son was born, he found a new passion in cattle. His boys could be with him while taking care of the cows. In the last six months he moved to his rent house to be close to their school. He devoted his whole life to raising his boys. The three amigos, he was quite the Mr. Mom.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick and Brayden of the home; one daughter, Natalie Robertson of McAlester; two granddaughters, Rosa Ibarra of McAlester, Hailey Ibarra of Hartshorne; one grandson, Robert Rogers of Hartshorne; two sisters, Alice Jones and husband, Perry Wood of McAlester, and Jackie Swboni of Hartshorne, OK; numerous other family and friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marcella Swboni; maternal grandparents, Jack and Alice Van Meter; paternal grandparents, George and Eva Swboni; son, Danny Capehart; sister, Pam Dixon.
Active pallbearers will be Shane Swboni, George C. Swboni, David Roberts, Cody Roberts, Tanner Sutton, Dylan Burgan. Honorary pallbearers will be David Jones, Perry Wood, John West, Rocky Jones and Kaiden Roberts.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne with Nathan Durant officiating.
