Gerald Emanuel

Gerald grew up on a small dairy farm in Caerphilly, Wales. Son to hard working Joseph and Gwladys and brother to Roy. He became an apprentice bus mechanic in his late teens, and later, with considerable effort and devotion, went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Glamorgan Technical College in Treforest, South Wales. After graduation, he took a position with the Gloster Aircraft company in Gloucester, England before moving to Toronto, Canada to work for the Avro Aircraft company. In Toronto, he worked hard, made many lifelong friends, enjoyed his life, and met and married the love of his life, Breda. In the early sixties he moved to Troy, Michigan and took an engineering position with Sperry Vickers, specializing in hydraulics. He and Breda raised a daughter, Tracy and a son, Steven who they taught the importance of hard work and compassion for others. He provided a wonderful life for his family for which we are eternally grateful. He made many friends along the way and played many rounds of golf with his buddies, whose friendship and camaraderie he was dearly thankful for.
He was a good man, and we miss him dearly.
