James Louis "Jim" Fuchs, 73, passed away Friday November 11, 2022, at Transcendent South in Boonville, IN.
Born February 26, 1949, in Tell City, Indiana, to the late Carl M. and Agnes (Olberding) Fuchs. Jim was a 1967 graduate of Tell City High School. After which he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam conflict. He had worked for Southeastern Coated Products in Columbia, SC. He also working for Trident Seafood Processing, on a boat that was built at Maxon Marine in Tell City, IN. He traveled with them on their maiden voyage to places like Seattle and Alaska and stayed with them for 20 years. He later retired from the American Commercial Barge Line as a deck hand. Jim was a very caring person and loved to take his dogs for car rides. He also adored his nieces and nephews and loved them and his family very much.
Survivors include his siblings, Paul Fuchs of Dale, Liz McCallister (Jim) of Tell City, Mike Fuchs of Evanston, Jeanette Criss (Darrel) of Lamar, Dennis Fuchs (Joan) of Leopold, and Patty Rudolph (Loel) of Tell City, and his nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Steve Donahue officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be Wednesday November 16, 2022, from 2:00 to 7:00pm and on Thursday from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.
