Joann could only be described as classy and elegant as well as strong and fierce. She was dedicated to her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She was their biggest fan. Nana Honey, referred to by her grandchildren, was always present at sporting events, academic achievements and countless dance recitals and plays. Joann loved the theatre and made sure her grandchildren experienced the arts at a young age. Joann was loving, supportive, and always encouraging in her own unique ways. Her love of travel led her to 5 continents and countless countries around the world. A joy she passed down to her family, always planning their next family adventure. One of her favorite places to visit was her family’s hometown of Villarosa, Sicily, where she enjoyed spending time with her cousins.
She will truly be missed, but her memory and feisty spirit will live through all of us who were touched by her love and generosity.
Family and friends will honor Joann's life by gathering at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham, MA 02180, on Thursday, August 17th 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday morning at Saint Patrick's Parish, 71 Central St, Stoneham, MA 02180 for a 10:00 AM funeral mass.
