John M. Coleman III, age 71, beloved husband of the late Brenda (nee Jackson); loving brother of Linda Davis Pluta (Harry), Jeanne Campanella (Thomas), and Scott Coleman (Martha); dear uncle of 9 nieces and nephews. Passed away on October 4, 2023.
John loved spending time with family and friends, and particularly enjoyed visits to museums and day trips to historical landmarks. He traveled throughout the US and camped with Brenda, his wife of 25 years, and fondly reminisced about their trips. He often boasted about their vegetable garden and recently enjoyed planting and harvesting tomatoes with his community garden club. John's wide range of interests also included painting, drawing, and listening to different genres of music. An avid reader, he was proud of his vast book collection, with history, geography, and the natural sciences among his favorite topics. To enhance his knowledge, he enrolled in a number of Learning in Retirement classes at Baldwin Wallace University, and relished lively conversations with others about his favorite subjects. John also enjoyed bicycling and swimming for as long as his health permitted. A man of unwavering faith, John attended weekly Mass, participated in Bible studies, and sang in the church choir. John will be sorely missed, and forever remembered as a kind, optimistic person who lived life fully, despite numerous health challenges. May he rest in eternal peace.

I considered John a good friend. He carried his exceptional burdens with grace. He was honest, direct, sincere, thoughtful and kind. He had a curiosity about the world and space and liked to travel. I think he is now in a better place.

John and I were good friends since high school. We had a lot of fun together. John was a real good guy. I am thankful he is now out of pain and discomfort. He had faith and trust in the Lord and we often talked about this. I look forward to seeing him again one day in Heaven. - Ken Fink
