John "Whitey" Preston

John Andrew Preston, 59, of Franklin, IL, passed away on February 18, 2024, at his home. He was born on August 11, 1964, at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC, to Shirley Jo Preston and the late William Gene Preston.
John, known for his love of long-distance motorcycle rides and cherished moments with his family, will be missed more than words can express. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Robinson; children, Ryan Hofmeister and Kyla Coomer; brother, Jason Preston (wife Ning); nephews and niece, Joey McComas, Kongbeang and Angelina Preston.
In his career John was a skilled machinist at Westermeyer Industries in Bluffs, Illinois. He was educated at Southern Illinois University and Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City. His professional journey took him to Wyoming and Alabama before returning to Illinois.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19th, at River of Life Ministries in Percy, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The American Diabetes Association or other approved BBB Wise Giving Alliance charities for heart health.
John's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
