Jon Wayne Stimpson

Jon Wayne Stimpson, 75, passed away on August 12, 2021, with his family by his side at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, NY.

Jon was born November 18, 1945 in Brockton, MA. He loved to tell stories of his childhood, especially those about raising hell with his best friend Carlo Villa, fishing in local watering holes, and learning to cook from his Italian grandmother.

Jon also loved to tell the story of falling in love at first sight with Kathy, his wife of almost 52 years.

He loved slicked back hair, rock and roll music, and cool cars. He was a fantastic cook and throughout his life people gathered around feasts he generously prepared.

Jon was a charismatic, funny, loving, and unforgettable man who will be greatly missed.

Jon is survived by his wife Kathy Stimpson; their three children and their partners, David Stimpson and Amber Turpin, Becky and Rich Diodati, Katie Stimpson and Wesley Quinlan; and 5 beloved grandchildren, Tessa, Teala, Noah, Vinny, and Hazel.

Calling hour will be on Sunday, August 15 from 2:00 to 3:00 prior to a private service at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford.
