Kay Scheel Obituary

She graduated from Hutchinson High School with the class of 1971. Kay later graduated from cosmetology school. She worked as a hairdresser since the age of 19, later owning and operating her own shop for over 40 years. She owned Kay s Kountry Kut out of her home in Hutchinson.
Kay was a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson. She also worked at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community as their hairdresser for 25 years, and Kay served on the Sunshine Meadows board.
Kay was united in marriage to Ronald Scheel on November 22, 1991 in Hutchinson. He survives of the home after almost 31 years of marriage.
Other survivors include her five children, Shane (Steve) Scheel-Rosenberg of Los Angeles, CA, Dawn (Anouar) Scheel-Bhiri of Austin, TX, Nathan (Bianca) San Miguel-Guy of Pflugerville, TX, Amanda Guy of Hutchinson, and Brynn (Seth) Findley of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren; sister, Patty (Stephen) Johnson of Buhler; and two nephews, Richard Johnson and Dustin Rice.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Chad Eugene Guy; one granddaughter; and three siblings.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at Buhler Mortuary, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, at Buhler Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community or Bethany Church of the Nazarene in care of Buhler Mortuary, PO Box 589, Buhler, KS 67522.
