Kenneth H. Thompson

Kenneth H. Thompson, age 55 years, died Thursday, August 3, 2023, at home following a long, courageous battle with health issues.
Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, December 6, 1967, he was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County and was a graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Class of 1986.
Ken was a heavy equipment operator with Stavola Oldwick Quarry, Oldwick, NJ. He was a member of the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Delaware Township, where he was a member of the church softball and dart teams and where he also was a member of the church choir.
Ken was a twenty-year member of the Amwell Valley Fire Co. and also the Amwell Valley Rescue Squad. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, especially history, spending time with his daughter and family, and helping his father, Howard, building tractors for tractor pulling contests.
His father, Howard Thompson, died in 2012.
Surviving are a daughter, Sabrina Thompson, who was the love and light of his life; his mother, H. Gail Voorhees Thompson, all of Ringoes, NJ; his two uncles and aunt, Frank Voorhees and Harry and Mary Voorhees and several special cousins.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. John Valiant, will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 12 Noon in the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday, 11:00 AM until the time of services in the church. Interment in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Reaville, NJ will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
