Rev. Dr. Krupadanam S. Devathala, passed away on May 31, 2024, in
Hartford, Connecticut. Born on October 18, 1936, in Devarakonda, India, he was the beloved son of the late Samson G. Devathala and late Suzanamma Devathala.
Rev. Krupadanam graduated from Mennonite Brethren High School in 1951 and subsequently received M.A., M.Ed. from Osmania University. He humbly dedicated his life to education and church ministry. He fervently served as a teacher and as a Headmaster of Mennonite Brethren High School in Devarakonda for over 30 years before retiring in 1994.
In 1963, Rev. Krupadanam married his beloved wife, Sarala Nama. Together, they raised their five loving children (spouse): Theoder Samson (Saritha Devathala), Annie Vakula Rani (Samson Velpula), Eunice Manjula (Prashanth Busamalla), Calvin Raj (Neelima Baktula) and Sujan Vatsala (Samson Gandepudi). He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children and nine grandchildren: Anurag Joseph, Samson Anvesh (Varsha Vanantius), Samson Sandesh, Ruth Theresa, Matthew Neel, Sarah Sanhitha, Serena Suhasini, Ethan Krupakar, and Sudheep Joel Raj. His family was the cornerstone of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, his loving brothers - Swami Das, Robert, William, George, Amos, and sisters - Daisy and Victoria. Rev. Krupadanam was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather.
Born into a Christian family, Rev. Krupadanam embraced his life's purpose of serving God from a young age. He began working alongside missionaries bringing the word of God to villages in India.
He became a pastor, passionately preaching the word of God and serving his community with unwavering faith and dedication. He served in the Mennonite Brethren Governing Council. He was the founder of Sarva Krupanidhi Ministries through which he established many churches in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Orissa. Above all, he was always willing and happy to lend a helping hand.
He enjoyed hunting, watching sports such as Cricket and Tennis. He loved sharing stories with his children and grandchildren. He prayed daily for his family, especially for the grandchildren's well-being and bright future. He loved to play the accordion and was an amazing singer and songwriter for a number of Telugu worship songs. He was an avid reader of all Biblical literature.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 7:00-9:00 pm EST at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South
Windsor, Connecticut.
A service to honor Rev. Krupadanam's life will be held on Saturday June 15, 2024, at 10:00 am EST at the Church of the Living God, 199 Deming Street, Manchester, Connecticut, with a time of visitation from 9:00-10:00 am prior to the service at the church. Following the service, Rev. Krupadanam will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17 Wickham Rd, Glastonbury, Connecticut.
A reception luncheon will follow cemetery services where family and friends can share memories and celebrate Rev. Krupadanam's life.
Rev. Dr. Krupadanam S. Devathala will be forever lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren as well as numerous extended families and many wonderful friends. His stories, wisdom, gentle spirit, and devotion to God will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
