Louis was born July 26, 1938 to Everett and Hattie (Forrester) Russell. Louis grew up in the Glencoe area and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1956. He immediately joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for his first assignment.
On May 23, 1958 he married Maxine Cullers in Stillwater. After he returned home from the service Louis attended Oklahoma State University under the GI Bill where he earned a degree in construction technology.

He owned and operated A-to-Z Rentals on Perkins Road for 32 years. In his spare time, for the next 35 years, he also tended to his pecan grove, “Russell’s Pecan Grove” out east of town. He and Maxine have sold countless pounds of pecans over the years that have graced the tables of many Payne County residents. Louis will also be remembered for his passion for woodworking, crafting bird feeders, cutting boards, and especially for his handcrafted keychains he would give to everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maxine; his children, Lael Rene’ Russell and Greggory Ray Russell both of Stillwater; grandchildren, Libby Ellen Bruder and Landry Dewell Bruder of Stillwater, and Caleb Jerome Russell of Dallas, Texas; his beloved dog, Buddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
