Lucy K. Lenhardt, of Rydal Park in Jenkintown, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, at her residence. She was 95 years old. Lucy was born on May 7, 1929, to the late Francesco and Rosamarina (née Primerano) Chindamo. She was the loving wife to Maurice P. Rdesinski for 43 years.
The first in her family to graduate from High School, Lucy then went to Burrough's Business School where she learned bookkeeping and accounting and worked in the field for most of her adult life. She married Walter H. Lenhardt in 1958 and worked until her children were born. She was then a stay-at-home mother until Walter died in a car accident in 1966. She returned to work as a bookkeeper working mostly for Lafferty Leasing and concentrated on raising her two children, then aged 7 and 3. Thirteen years later, in 1979, she met Maurice Rdesinski, an engineer and widower with 4 daughters, ages 18, 17, 10, and 9. They married in 1981 and together they forged a real family of one brother and five sisters, which has only deepened with the addition of spouses and cousins.
Lucy enjoyed commuting with Maurice, to her job as the bookkeeper at Friday Architects in Philadelphia, where they would often meet after work for dinner before attending the ballet or theater. She retired after 11 years there and filled her time volunteering, spending time with their children, some in faraway places like Japan and Portland, Oregon, and helping with her 13 grandchildren.
Along with her husband Maurice, Lucy is survived by her children: Joyce Lenhardt (Robert Shuman), K. Eric Lenhardt (Reiko Yamamoto), Maurice's children: Mary Beth Macnamara (Rob), Amy Fruehstorfer (Tom), Rebecca Rdesinski (Jesse Swickard), and is predeceased by Maurice's daughter: Anne Dordal (Andrew). Lucy is also survived by her grandchildren: Daniel Lenhardt Shuman, Caroline Lenhardt Shuman (Ben Kufert), Christopher Dordal, Nancy Dordal, Emilee Macnamara, Timothy Macnamara, Celeste Macnamara, Hannah Marie Lenhardt, Sage Christopher Lenhardt, Ellie Fruehstorfer, Gretchen Fruehstorfer, Lyla Fruehstorfer, Runa Lee Swickard, and her great granddaughter: Kaylee Kufert-Shuman. She was predeceased by her siblings: Stella Cox and Pasqualina "Pat" Maczulak.
