Michael D. Wilcomb

TOWNSEND: Michael D. Wilcomb, 72, of Townsend, died unexpectedly Friday, April 21, 2023 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer.
Mr. Wilcomb was born in Missoula, Montana, April 21, 1951, one of four boys born to Jess and Patricia (McGuinn) Wilcomb and has resided in Townsend for over thirty years.
A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Mr. Wilcomb entered the United States Army 1973 and served his country for over 20 years, retiring in 1993 at the rank of Major.
Following his retirement from the armed services, Mr. Wilcomb taught English at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill.
He was an avid collector of antiques and loved to play poker with his neighbors and friends.
He leaves his wife of 44 years Graziella L. (Chieregati) Wilcomb; two daughters, Rebecca G. Wilcomb of New Orleans, LA, Lisa M. Braga of Townsend; three brothers, Richard Wilcomb of Missoula, Montana, Brian Wilcomb of Denver, Colorado, Shaun Wilcomb of Whitefish, Montana; two sons in law, Jon Braga and Ron W. Nelson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Alivia Braga, Willow Braga, Beau Braga and Runa Nelson – Wilcomb.
Interment with military honors will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 1 pm in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. Family and friends will then be gathering at the Wilcomb home at 12 Cedar Circle, Townsend, MA to further celebrate his life.
The Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, Townsend Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
