On October 24, 2021 at 3;15 p.m. God sent an angel to bring his daughter home where she will begin eternal life. Monica Denise Daniel was born June 24, 1955 to union the late Sarah Bigham and Issac Daniel in Detroit, MI. Monica moved to Muskegon MI in the late 1960's were she received her education in Muskegon Heights School District. Monica graduated from Muskegon Heights High School, C/O 1973.
Gospel Musical Journey:
Monica accepted Christ at an early age when she was baptized at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church where she served the Lord under leadership of the late Pastor Stanley Levy in Muskegon, MI. Monica's love for the Lord was undeniable, she was a faithful servant of God who was not ashamed to tell you. Monica was passionate about her commitment to Christ which she demonstrated in her life-long ministry. Monica sang and lead in a succession of Gospel groups, churches and organizations: her musical journey began with The Spiritual Reflection of Grand Rapids, MI. Monica had a vision which led her to begin a Gospel group, Heavenly Voices of Muskegon, MI, where she enjoyed signing with her sisters Sarah Nutricia Ann Blair and Chandra Warren.
Monica, along with Chandra would later continue their Musical Ministry with an upcoming touring gospel group, The Brook Singers of Muskegon, MI. While singing with the group, Monica's voice would soon become recognizable throughout the Midwest. Answering her calling to sing, Monica grasped her love for song by the wings when she joined West Shore Chapter Choir of Muskegon, MI. As a member of this highly recognized organization, she embraced the opportunity to share her voice beyond the Midwest as they traveled state to state spreading the love of God.
Building a foundation:
In 2004, Monica took a leap of faith in her musical ministry. Along with her good friend, Pastor Jerry Riley, she was one of the founding members and assisted in naming Muskegon's most notable sanctuaries, Upper Room Church Ministries. She dedicated a great amount of her time molding the musical foundation, teaching and ministering to the new members. Monica's passion for music and love for God could be felt by anyone in her presence. Although she relocated to Colorado in 2007, her hard work still maintains in this great Sanctuary she called home.
After moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be closer to family, Monica visited various churches seeking one she could call home. It was in 2008 when she met Pastor Charles Tedder, a minister from Killen, TX who moved to Colorado with a revelation. Together they would combine their visions to create Christian House of Prayer of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Initially, services were held in a Holiday Inn conference room with less than 25 members. Over a short period of time the congregation rapidly grew to over 100 members, by 2010 the church grew beyond 300 members. Monica was exceptionally activity in the church; however, her passion was ministering the youth and Praise Team.
In 2015 Monica moved to San Antonio, TX to be closer to her son Torrence and grandchildren. She immediately found a church home at Resurrection Baptist Church under the leadership Pastor Ray Brown where she continued her ministry to the praise team. Monica's passion grew in the church as she was called to take her next spiritual journey. Monica began her studies in seeking Evangelism and graduated 2019.
