Murray W. Sims

Murray William Sims, Jr., age 90, passed away on September 22, 2022. Murray was a native Chicagoan, son of the late Murray and Gertrude (Ramer) Sims and was raised on Chicago's south side. He attended St. Ignatius College Prep, Hyde Park High School, St. Joseph's College and John Marshall Law School. Murray was a member of the US Army Reserves and worked as an attorney for more than 40 years. He was an avid golfer, voracious reader, lover of the arts and committed fan of the Chicago White Sox. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, commitment to life-long learning, and –most importantly-his deep and abiding love for his family. Murray is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years Anne (Gartner) Sims; his loving children Mary (Raymond) Vonck and Colleen Sims; his devoted grandchildren Caroline, Paul, Sarah, Meghan and Fiona; his sister-in-law Mary (Gartner) Dean and many cherished nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL 60423 on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 from 11: 00 AM until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.
