Nancy Walters

Nancy Walters, age 77, passed away on July 29, 2022. She was born on February 11, 1945 in Croswell, MI to Johannes DeGroote and Mina Hamelink DeGroote. Nancy had a sense of adventure and enjoyed scuba diving, riding motorcycles, sailing and most of all flying. She was an accomplished female pilot and supported multiple charities, including Women's Pilot Organization 99's in which she was very active.
Nancy married Ronald Walters on October 28, 1977 in Detroit. They made their home in Royal Oak and also spent time in Florida. She was a longtime member of First Congregational Church in Royal Oak.
Beloved wife of Ronald. Loving mother of Maryan Chiles, Michael (Christine) McGrath, the late Kevin McGrath and step-mother of Jeff (Jennifer) Walters and Scott (Jenny) Walters. Proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Dear sister of the late Cathy Armbruster and sister-in-law of Richard Armbruster.
Memorial gathering Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 2-8 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. Memorial service Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11 am at First Congregational Church of Royal Oak. For those not able to attend the service, it will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/FFcG4qMsAjc
