Ronald J. Hunt
Beloved husband of the late Susanne Hunt for 52 years.
Devoted father of Dana (Chris) Kolito, Kelly (Todd) Wilson, and Michael Hunt.
Dear Brother of Larry Hunt and Bernie Etchells. Dearest Grandfather of Dylan (Nicole),
Hannah (Brennan), Elizabeth (Patrick), Brandon, Zachary (Mady), Jacob, Skyler (Madison),
Cameron (Alex), Christa (Chris), Loving Great Grandfather to Hayden, Abigail, Emery, Elle, and the late Iris.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Cathrine Hunt as well as by his siblings Marjorie Scully, Betty Waldie, Mary Lou Falconer, Kathy McLean, Joanne Lichowicz and Tim Hunt. He is survived by many nieces and nephews who he adored.
Ron had a heart rooted in family. Ron will be remembered for his kind spirit, humor, generosity and love of storytelling. He enjoyed watching every Red Wing Hockey & Lions Football games with his brother Larry, his best friend.
His main hobby, he would tell people was the Casino and he would go often. He was a "Casino man" - Scratch offs were his all-time favorite gift.
He enjoyed and treasured his cabin up north in St Helen MI. Ron and Sue would spend much of their time fixing it up for their children and grandchildren to enjoy for many years.
He had a notorious sweet tooth especially for donuts, Three Musketeers, ice cream, butterscotch candies, jellybeans and his favorite was Kroger's caramel frosting cake.
Nicknamed "Ratman" many years ago for all his shenanigans with his dear friends, The Connell family.
Ron always looked forward to playing poker every Tuesday night with his son Michael and all his poker buddies that he adored. It was the highlight of his week.
The "Hunts" St. Patrick Day Party was something he loved. He would spend time cooking all the corned beef and cabbage for everyone.
Ron enjoyed music, especially old country and the 50's. He would often pick up his grandson, Brandon and drive to St. Helen MI. listening to 50's Rock and Roll the whole way. Those two became known as "Fire and Ice" for their fun adventures together at the cabin.
Any sporting or special events the grandkids had, he and Sue were there. From flag football, dance recitals, to graduations. He was their biggest cheerleader. Special Olympics was something Ron was very supportive of, and he cherished the times he would get to see Brandon compete.
