Viola was married to David Giancola for 40 years (1956 - 1996). David passed away in September, 1996. Viola and David were the proud parents of 3 children (Katherine/Gregory Moseley; David Jr./Margaret (Peggy) Giancola; and, Anthony/Shelley Giancola. They were also proud grandparents of 9, and great grandparents of 16. Viola was one of 5 children to Gilberto and Jennie Giancola. Viola was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto and Jennie Giancola, as well as her brother Anthony Giancola and her sister-in-laws Ida Giancola and Mary Caruso. Viola was born in Cleveland, OH and moved to Michigan upon her marriage to David.
Viola was employed by Standard Federal Bank as a Teller Supervisor for many years. Viola and David enjoyed boating and fishing and being on Lake St. Clair. In 1987, Viola and David began their retirement years in Venice, FL, where they would spend the winter months along the Gulf Coast. Upon David's passing, Viola became actively involved in the Italian-American Club in Venice, as well the Classic Automobile Club of Venice. Viola was a key volunteer/leader for the annual Venice Christmas Parade for many years. She also enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips with her siblings.
There were so many good memories, treasured moments, and accomplishments during her life. Viola will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. We know Viola has joined her beloved husband, David, her parents, sisters-in-law, and brother in heaven and now rests in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
