Raymond Reynolds

Raymond A. Reynolds, 85, a long-time resident of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home at King, WI, on Thursday evening May 5, 2022. He was in the presence of his daughter when he was called home by God.
Raymond was born July 20, 1936, in Houghton, MI, the son of Robert and Mary (Hedman). He graduated in 1954 from Houghton High School in Houghton, MI. He attended Michigan Technological University for two years before entering the US Navy, where he became a Helmsman on the Air Craft Carrier USS Intrepid, serving on active duty from 1955 - 1957. He was then in the Naval Reserves until his official honorable discharge in 1961. In 1958, he returned to Michigan Tech and completed his Bachelor's Degree in 1960.
On November 8, 1958, he married the love of his life, Marcia Lamont in Detroit, MI. The couple had seven children and resided in Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado and Ohio before settling in Stevens Point in 1978. They were married for 54 years prior to Marcia's death in 2011.
Raymond was a Manufacturing Engineer for many years and then co-owned and operated Reynolds Travel Service with his wife for six years until their retirement. Later in his career he became a consultant for several large companies, often traveling abroad.
Ray enjoyed traveling, golf, racquetball, cribbage, carpentry, volunteering, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his membership in the Mahogany Club. He was always active in his family, home-life and church performing many projects big and small, often for the benefit of others.
He is survived by six of his children; Lynn McNamee, Mary McCafferty, Michael (Linda) Reynolds, David Reynolds, John (Michelle) Reynolds, Jennifer Glad; nine grandchildren, Leah (Ricky) Lee, Shannon Hammond, Dean McNamee, Reginald McCafferty III, Stephanie Frost, Kristen Reynolds, Daniel Reynolds, Alexandra Glad, Samantha Glad; five great-grandchildren and his Goddaughter, Christina Mower.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Beth Ann Reynolds; his wife; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point on Saturday, May 14, 2022, with visitation 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and service at 1:00 p.m. Raymond will be buried next to his wife and daughter in St. Joseph Cemetery on a later date.
