Russell “Roy” Witt, Jr., 68, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Born in Petersburg, Virginia on March 10, 1955, he was the son of the late Russell Roy Witt, Sr. and Elizabeth Francis Witt.
Roy attended Colonial Heights High School, and went on to become a professional truck driver, dedicating 40 years to the industry. He was a proud member of the NRA, loved racing, shooting his guns, and meeting new people. He also loved his Wawa coffee and sitting in the parking lot often.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gwen P. Witt; his children, Jeanie Witt Bogue and husband, Brian, Ginger E. Lemocks and husband, Chris Boswell; and Stacey F. Hudson and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Devon, Jesse, Hailey, Noah, Carlee, Lebbeni, Ian, and Braxton; great-grandchildren, Shane, Charlotte, and Joseph; sisters, Cathy Davis and husband, Donnie and Gail Hinnant and husband, Tim; brother, John Witt and wife, Janet; and many other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. Arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Robert and Rita Simpson of Texas as well as other family members for their generous contributions.
