Sarah Basham McCleney, 85, of Reidsville went home to be with The Lord, Monday, June 26, 2023, at Penn Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Tuck officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Sarah was born in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Effie Williams Basham. She was a member of Lawsonville Roads Baptist Church. She was a lifetime homemaker, a loving wife and faithful mother. Sarah enjoyed reading, working with flowers, and cooking for her family. Always a servant, she was careful to make sure Joseph always had what he needed. Along with parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. “Pete” McCleney; siblings Beatrice Basham, James Basham and wife Sarah, Glenn Basham and wife Gladys, Richard Basham and wife Helen and Edith, Margaret Basham Love and husband Jack, and Curtis Basham and wife Carolyn.
Sarah is survived by her son Joseph F. McCleney; her sisters Virginia Basham Holmes and Eunice Massey; and a large extended family.
