Shirley Darlene (Sanders) Glenn, 81, of Pittsburg, Kansas died peacefully Friday, August 12, 2022 at Westridge Assisted Living in Girard.
Shirley was born January 8, 1941 in Carthage, Missouri to Beverly "Bud" and Fern (Berry) Sanders. She attended Opolis grade school before moving to Pittsburg in 1952, graduating from Pittsburg Senior High in 1958.
Shirley married Virgil Glenn on April 20, 1970. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2021.
Shirley's calling in life was taking care of the people she loved. She created a warm home, where her loved ones gathered to enjoy her wonderful cooking and to experience her gentle, nurturing heart. She will be deeply missed.
Shirley is survived by her loved ones: Jeffrey Glenn and Shaun Higgins of Pittsburg; Kathryn Young and family of Olathe, Kansas; Whitney Saporito and family of Gardner, Kansas; Dr. Aubri Ashbacher and family of Joplin, Missouri; Ariel Beam and family of Girard, Kansas; Taylor Black and family of Aurora, Colorado; Dustin Saporito and family of Weir, Kansas; and Jeremy Stover and family of Parsons, Kansas.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Shirley's final resting place will be Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a contribution to "Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Pittsburg" in care of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary.
