Stephen A Valasek

Stephen A Valasek 66 of Whiting died on December 30, 2021 at home. Born in Queens, NY he resided in Long Island City for 58 years before moving to Whiting 7 years ago. He worked for Citi Corp Bank in New York as a Computer Technical Analyst. He was past treasurer of the Old Guard in Pine Ridge, and a 7th degree black belt in martial arts. He loved music and his hometown of Long Island city. He was a head usher for St Mary 's Church in Long Island City and an usher for St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of their Knights of Columbus Council. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary, 3 daughters, Veronica Valasek, Anna Valasek and Angela Valasek, daughter in law Ronda, a sister, Elizabeth Nero and 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Hayden, Logan, Qetsiyah, Kristina and Aria. He is predeceased by his Father Francis Valasek and mother Mildred Laucella Valasek. Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 19th, at 10 Am at St Mary's Church, Long Island City, NY with inurnment to follow at Mount St Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, NY.
