Steve was born on October 5, 1954, in Willmar, MN, the son of Arthur Marvin and Carol Marie (Wiese) Erickson. He was united in marriage to Wanda (Sandner) Whitley on December 15, 2006, in Moberly, MO. Steve enjoyed watching the NFL Vikings, hunting, fishing, and telling good stories over a few brews. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his mother, Carol Erickson of Sauk Rapids, MN, one son, Adam Erickson and his wife Lindsey of Ozark, MO; one daughter, Megan Erickson Galla and her husband Nick of Macon, MO; three step daughters, Chris Whitley DeLozier, Renee Whitley Sherman, Kim Whitley Keune and her husband Ron; all of Macon, his grandchildren, Avery, Asher, Hailey, Steven, Damien, Chelsey, Raquel, Katlyn, his six great grandchildren, Boone, Sailor, Ryan, Kambre, Knox, Bodie, one nephew, Justin Winter, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, his wife, Wanda on August 5, 2020, and one sister, Debbie Winter.
A Celebration of Life memorial service for Steve and Wanda will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Visitation will be Sunday at 12:00 pm, until the time of the service, at the funeral home. Private family burial service. The family suggests memorials to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
