Obituary of Tanner Lee Walker
Tanner Lee Walker was born in Melbourne, Florida, on May 24, 2023, weighing 5 lb 3 oz and 18in long. Unfortunately, Tanner was born without a heartbeat and was resuscitated immediately. As the hours went on, his doctors discovered Tanner had severe HIE from the lack of oxygen sustained at birth and whatever happened to him in the womb. He was then transferred to Advent Health in Orlando where he received the best possible care. For the next 27 days, Tanner fought incredibly hard to hold onto life. Ultimately, he succumbed to his illness and passed peacefully in the arms of his mother and father on June 20, 2023.
Tanner was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Nicole Walker, and two Great Grandfathers, Barry Tanner, and Todd Campos. He is survived by his Mother and Father, Telia Campos-Giesy and Benjamin Walker; Grandparents, Tiffany Campos, Thomas Giesy, and Ben Walker; Great Grandparents, Brenda Campos, Karen Elliot, Susan Savastio and Deanna Tanner; Aunt, Janelle Walker and cousin, Braxton; Uncles, Nick Walker, RJ Campos, and Thomas Giesy Jr; and countless extended family members who all love him dearly.
His parents are forever thankful for all of the special moments they had with him. He was able to look up at his mommy and daddy several times while holding their hands. Although he never came home, his parents were able to play a big role in his care at the hospital. From changing his diapers to taking his temperature and maintaining his overall hygiene, Telia and Ben relished every moment with their sweet baby boy. In his short time here, Tanner made quite an impact on everyone that encountered him.
Services are being held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Ammen Family Funeral Care, 1001 S Hickory St., Melbourne, FL 32901. Viewing is from 10:00 to 11:30 and services will follow. Reception info will be given after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope for HIE https://www.hopeforhie.org/
