Mr. Terry J. Barnett, 61, of Newnan, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Terry was born January 24, 1962, in Atlanta, GA, to the late William Fred Barnett and the late Lillie Mae Crankshaw Barnett. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry William; and his beloved brother, Dennis Barnett. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Whitesburg, GA, and never met a stranger.
Terry was a Godly man, an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. He enjoyed boating, playing pool, and riding his ATV. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Terry is survived by his wife, Gena-V Barnett; children, Eric Gowen (Jessica), Jennifer Salmons (Shane), Terry W. Barnett, Suzie Whitehurst (Donnie); sisters, Sybil McKnight (Mike), Wanda Beaver (Phillip), and Darlene Brown (Butch); brother, Barry Barnett; sisters-in-law, Angela Shaw (Tony) and Tracey Sullivan (Scott); grandchildren, Peyton, Michael, Maddex, Jenson and Justin; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and many, caring friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Lester officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
His loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on through organ and tissue donation that will touch countless others made possible through these selfless gifts.
The family would like to thank Savanna Weaver of the ICU Unit at Grady Memorial Hospital and Lifelink Foundation for the compassion and kindness shown to them during this difficult time.
