Victor Neal Meyer

Victor Neal Meyer of Rolla, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 60. Victor was born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois to the late Bill and Helen (Crain) Meyer.
Victor Meyer was united in marriage to Miss Dora Hurley on December 26, 1981; this union was blessed with three sons. Victor worked with his father in the asphalt business growing up. In 1980 he started his own company Meyer Asphalt. He grew the company over the years from just doing local jobs to now serving several Missouri Counties.
His family will remember him as a man's man. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over buying a new one. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man's word. To his children, he was loving but fair. He made sure to instill his values on them as well as the importance of working hard, and providing for their families; To his wife, he was loving and caring. He never really had any hobbies, if you had ever asked him what his hobby was, he would reply "work". But really he enjoyed hunting and fishing, when he could, taking the boys, and then the grandkids to the woods was something he looked forward to. Most importantly he loved his family, and the time he could spend with them, especially the grandchildren. Victor was a devoted husband for 41 years to Dora, a devoted and supportive father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be forever remembered.
Victor Neal Meyer is survived by his wife, Dora of the home; sons, Joshua Meyer and wife Megan, of Rolla, MO, Travis Meyer and wife Cora, of Rolla, MO, and Curtis Meyer and wife Jenna, of Rolla, MO; brother, Mike Meyer and friend Brenda, of Rocky Mount, MO; sisters, Joann Fitzgerald and husband Ron, of Linn Creek, MO, and Sherry Lagares and husband Dennis, of FL; grandchildren, Jaxx, Austin, Isabella, Brooke, Avery, Audrey, Joseph, Connor, Christopher, Jacob, and Johnathan; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents on both sides.
A memorial service for Victor will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Chaplain Dan Phillips officiating.
