In Loving Memory of Zachary Tyler Lodge, it is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Zachary. Zachary Tyler Lodge, 25, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on May 13th, 1998, in Troy, New York, the son of Kerry Smith and Christopher Lodge. Zachary had a way of touching the lives of everyone he encountered. His kindness knew no bounds and his compassion for others was a testament to his beautiful soul. He always extended a helping hand to those in need, making the world a better place with his selflessness. Zachary attended Shenendehowa schools in Clifton Park, New York and graduated from Provost Academy South Carolina in 2016. Zachary was brilliant, kind, and an intellectual force to be reckoned with. He was a perpetual learner, constantly expanding his horizons and seeking knowledge. Growing up, Zachary had a passion for photography and had some of his personal works submitted into art shows held in his hometown of Clifton Park, New York. He found joy in spending time with his close family and friends and was loved by everyone who knew him. He lit up every room with his charismatic personality and never failed to make people laugh. He enjoyed making videos and slideshows to music. He added "glitter" to any darkness in the world. Zachary was a remarkable grandson, son, brother, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by his parents, Kerry Smith, and Christopher Lodge; his brother Noah and sisters Kayleigh, Lilly, and Jayella. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Leslie, and Bruce Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Barbara, and Mark Lodge, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and an amplitude of friends and loved ones whose lives he touched deeply. He will forever be a guiding light. Zachary was a beautiful young man, who was a shining light of kindness, unwavering strength, and exceptional intelligence. He left this world far too soon. He had a heart of gold and was always destined for so much greater than this world. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and wisdom that will continue to inspire us all. We find solace in the memories of the incredible person Zachary was and the impact he had on each of us and the impact he will continue to have forever here on earth, as in heaven, where we know he is flourishing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Socastee United Methodist Church, 5575 Dick Pond Road, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29588.
