Hey Dave,
Cannot say how much I missed you through the years.
Time moves swiftly, you are never forgotten; always in my daily prayer.
Only reason to return to Phoenix is our little brother, Pat. Next time will share a beer.
Miss you every day!

I drive by your sign on Cactus every single day, and even though I never met you, I thank you for your sacrifice. I live near the Cactus precinct and realize that all those men and women are taking the same risks you did each and every day. Thank you for showing what true service really is. I pray that your family has peace and comfort, all these years later. I am sure that it's still hard for them. You are a true hero sir.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your kind words, I have for the first time just read all 73 pages of your very supportive messages. I am very proud to be the daughter of such a fine man. I still miss him very much, and that will never change. I was only 23 when I lost my father, that's far to young for anyone to lose one of their parents. I was married this past November, and the hardest part was not having him there to walk me down the aisle, and give me away. It still seems like a bad dream, but it's been 10 months already. I know he is resting peacefully and I will see him again someday. Until that day comes I hold tightly the many years of memories I have. Dad, you are the best! I think of you everyday, I miss you so much and only wish that I could have one last everything with you. You are my hero, that will never change. I Love You, So long but never goodbye.
Your Daughter,
Dawn Leden

I know that does not help in missing David but know he walks with the angels.

Kerry and family, Olga and family, remembering David as a baby, toddler, teenager, and as an adult with his smile as he was teasing us, we all know what a great person he was to all of us along with being an exemplary police officer. I will always be grateful to him for his help. I know that he has the Glory of God in his eyes and the touch of God is upon him. He can hear the sweet laughter of angels nearby and he is in his glory. We will miss him immensely, but we will work to see him someday and the rest of the family. Always know that I am here for you everyday no matter the time of day it may be. May God give you peace and stength, and may we all someday remember memories of David with a smile instead of tears. I love you, Aunt Nati & Sis

A hero is...
One Who Never Hesitates To Tackle The Most Difficult Problems..
One Who Is Always By Your Side..
One Who Knows Right From Wrong..
One Who Acts With Pride..
A Hero Touches Every One Of Us,
Whether It Be Word Or Deed..
Always Tending To Those Who Find Themselves In Need..
When A Hero Leaves This Earth, Yes, It's Sad, But True..

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the entire family. In life we all know that some day we will go home to our maker but it is such a shock for those of us left behind. For David there is no mourning, pain or sorrow, just happiness and Love.
I lost my 24 year old son in dec 2004, just before Christmas. I understand the pain the family is feeling and if you ever need any one to talk to while trying to understand all the feelings that you are experiencing feel free to email me. It is healing to talk to others that understand the heart break even months after the loss.
You are all in my Prayers.
David is walking with Jesus now!

Mrs. Uribe, please accept my condolances for the loss of your husband David. While we never met, I am a former police officer having spent seventeen years on the streets in Michigan.
It is rewarding to see that the community as a whole has reached out to you and your family and honor David.
Only time will ease the pain, and I offer my prayers to help give you the faith, courage and willpower to move forward one day at a time! You truly are a family dedicated to the "public safety".
May God bless you and your family!

I hope that the outpouring of support that day and every day since this tragedy took place will bring Officer Uribe's family a sense of comfort in knowing that they were not alone.....they should be proud. Unfortunately we don't think to thank our men in blue often enough for standing watch over us so I'm saying it now...thank you Officer Uribe. May God bless all of you during this time of grief.

My deepest condolensces to the Uribe family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Officer Uribe, but I know that had I, I too; would have loved him.
I pray for his 7 children, and 5 grandchildren, and his beautiful wife. I pray that Officer Uribe is at peace in heaven, and that his family will find strength in their new guardian angel.
I recently lost my mother, and viewing the processional to the cemetary was very emotional for me. I hope that the Uribe family finds strength, and realizes the love this community has for them, and the pain it feels for their loss. God bless all of you who have held a car wash, and donation drives for this family. In this tragic time, the love this community shows, will be the driving force for this family to be strong for each other, and will help them to support each other.
Let us never forget this man, or why he died, or how he died, and the senslessness of it all.
Rest in Peace, David, and may God bless your family.

I AM WRITTING ON BEHALF OF MY GRANDSON ANDREW FLORENCIO GARCIA AND MYSELF. ANDREW KNEW DAVID FROM THE HARKINS THEATRES @ 67TH & THOMAS. WHEN DREW CAME TO TELL ME ABOUT THIS "REALLY COOL OFFICER" THAT WOULD SIT WITH HIM AND TALK ABOUT ALMOST EVERYTHING AS HE WORKED THE CONSESSION STAND & HOW HE HAD BEEN SHOT, I FELT MY HEART BREAK FOR MY GRANDSON GREIF, HE OBVIOUSLY HELD OFFICER URIBE CLOSE TO HIS HEART. AS WE DISCUSSED HIS PAIN & THE ANGUISH OF LOSING SUCH A GREAT GUY, I CAME TO REALIZE THAT I TOO KNEW DAVID URIBE...LOOKING BACK ON THE DAYS THAT I WORKED AT MARYVALE SAMARITAN HOSPITAL, IT CAME TO BE THAT OFFICER URIBE WAS A REGULAR THERE AS WELL. HE WOULD DO A "WALK THRU" THE E.R. TO MAKE SURE ALL WAS OK. WHAT A SMALL WORLD. I THEN TOO FELT MY EYES FILL WITH TEARS FOR THIS MAN I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT UNTIL NOW. WE ARE BOTH VERY VERY SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF SUCH A GREAT PERSON BOTH AS AN OFFICER AND MORE SO AS THE CONSIDERATE PERSON HE WAS TO GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE US ALL FEEL SAFE, ALOT OF THE TIME HE WAS OFF THE CLOCK, BUT FELT THE NEED TO JUST STOP BY AND CHECK OUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD! GOD BLESS HIM. THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN BE SAID TO EASE THE PAIN FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COWORKERS HE LEFT BEHIND, JUST KNOW THAT DAVID IS WITH THE ANGELS AND WILL ALWAYS BE BY OUR SIDES, KEEP THE FAITH AND PRAY FOR US ALL THAT WE NEVER FORGET HIM OR HIS MEMORY. PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL.

My daughter, who is 4, and I waited for an hour at the corner by the church where the service happened on the 17th. I wanted her to see a man who deserved nothing less than the funeral he received. It was a sight I needed to see, but I pray I never see again.
She is to young to understand the implications of a fallen hero, but I wanted her to be there, and it is something I can tell her about when she is older and can understand. I told her as your husband/father/fellow officer passed that they were taking a hero to his final rest. She smiled and waved at the motorcycle officers.
I thank God she doesn't know death yet, and doesn't know there are people out there that are so cold that killing is something they can do without thinking.
My heart is breaking for you. I cannot imagine the sacrifice families of officers and firefighters make. I cannot imagine the fear everyday when they walk out the door. I cannot imagine your pain.
I thank God for men and women like David Uribe, who put their lives on the line so we can be as safe as humanly possible.
Thank you...all of you. Police, firefighters, paramedics, families that support these brave men and women. Thank you for the sacrifice you make running toward trouble, when everyone else is running away.
Words don't seem enough, and for that I hurt. But thank you is all I can say, and I am so sorry for your loss.

To the Uribe family,
I am very sorry for your loss. I know too well the pain you are going through. I too walk in your shoes. My husband was also shot and killed in the line of duty. Please know that if you ever need to talk I am here for all of you day or night. What gets me through each day are the memories. I focus on the life Eric and I had and not on how he was killed. You are constantly in my thoughts. I will pray for you to have the strength you need get you through the days ahead.
