Kenneth Becker Obituary

Published by Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory on Jun. 9, 2021.
Kenneth H. Becker, age 69, of Wonder Lake, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Journey Care in Barrington, IL. Ken (known as Keek by his family) was born in Chicago, on April 18, 1952, the son of Irvin H. and Dorothy (Cox) Becker. He was a local boy, growing up in McHenry (Lakeland Park) and then, after spending some time in the army, in 1982 he moved to Wonder Lake where he settled down with his bride from Two Rivers Wisconsin, Rita (Gibeault) Becker. Ken worked for Cryovac/Sealed Air for 30 plus years. He was a US Army Veteran, a board member of Deep Spring Woods Country Club, and a parishioner of Christ the King Church. He loved boating, hanging with his 'happy hour' friends, betting on the Chicago Bears, and computer gaming with family and friends. Ken was known and loved for his helpfulness and his teasing sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife Rita Becker, his daughter Rachel (Sean) Mullen, his grandsons Keegan and Emmett Mullen (known to them as Papa), his siblings, Cathie Becker (John Potts), Margie (Tony) Dries, John (Vicki) Becker, as well as many brothers and sisters in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Dorothy Becker, and his sister, Mary Frantz. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake IL. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to JourneyCare of Barrington in memory of Ken Becker. Sorry for your loss, Ken was such a great guy. We knew Ken from SIU Carbondale, he and my husband were both TKE's. Ken also was a groomsman in our wedding almost 43 yrs ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kenny my friend. I will miss your laughter and always know that you are planning your next prank, even in Heaven. Being on the end of those pranks many times, I enjoyed our laughter and friendship and will remember you and all the good times we had with our friends at the Squire. Travel well my friend.

I was so sad to hear about the loss of beloved Kenny. I knew him as a regular customer at the squire for many years. He always had a great smile and was such a pleasure to always talk to. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rip Kenny you will be missed!
