RICHARD ALAN JONES

RICHARD ALAN JONES of Harlan, IA died Au-gust 19, 2021 at the age of 80. He became a licensed funeral director in the state of Iowa in 1965 and the state of Nebraska in 1968. Jones started his funeral career in Council Bluffs before moving to Harlan to work at Pauley Funeral Home, which he purchased in 1975. In 2003, Jones partnered with his son, Michael and renamed the firm, Pauley Jones Funeral Home. They purchased Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca that same year. He retired in 2016. A 1963 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, he was president of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association and served on the policy board for the National Funeral Directors Association and the WWII National Monument Committee in Washington, DC.
