“Green Acres” star
Lester was working in local theater when he won the role of Eb Dawson, the wise guy farmhand for Mr. and Mrs. Douglas. He won the role since he was the only actor who could milk a cow. He was very close with actor Eddie Albert, who played Mr. Douglas. Lester also appeared as Eb on the related rural sitcoms “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “Petticoat Junction.” Typecast after “Green Acres,” he occasionally appeared in a movie or TV guest role and became a farmer and an evangelist.
