Adolphe Thibault Obituary

of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, May 27th, 2021, just one day after his 90th birthday. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Tracy) Thibault.

Born in Boston to the late Stanislaus and Marguerite (Muise) Thibault. Joe was a graduate of Saugus High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving during the Korean War aboard the fleet tug USS Arikara. The USS Arikara took part in the atomic energy tests at the Eniwetok proving ground. The ship is entitled to wear 5 of the 8 Korean battle stars. Upon returning home he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 103, until his retirement in 1991.

In his free time, Joe enjoyed going to the Lido Cafe and Tai Hong and watching the Red Sox games with his companion of many years, Jeanne Gentile. He liked playing Keno, watching NASCAR races, Gunsmoke, and watching his grandsons play football and hockey games. He very much loved to give out Snickers bar ice creams and lollipops to his great grandchildren when their parents backs were turned. His grandchildren have many happy memories of swimming in his pool during the summers with their parents and having some KFC while Grampy Joe enjoyed a snapper or two after work.

Joe is survived by his children Michael Thibault and his wife Denise, Cynthia Thibault, Brian Thibault, Paul Thibault and his wife Valerie, his son-in-law James Oliver, his sisters Annamarie Collins and Marilyn Ballard and her husband Kenneth, and his cousin Gerald "Joe" Muise, his childhood partner in crime. Joe leaves behind his 14 grandchildren; Matthew Thibault and his wife Kim, Michelle and her husband Nate Manley, Marianne Thibault and Mark Duquette, Maureen Thibault, Nicole Dulong, Ryan Dulong and his wife Theresa, Daniel Dulong and his wife Rachel, Steven Dulong , Jonathan Thibault and Margot Miksis, Joseph Nardone and his wife Angela, Michael Nardone and Kristy Rufo, Christopher Nardone and his wife Colleen, Shannon Gomatos and her husband George, Katie Roaf and her husband Dan, his 23 great-grandchildren; Nathaniel, Madison, Timothy, Chloe, Isabella, Julianna, Marissa, Lily, Michael, Liliana, Leo, Jack, Joseph, Anabelle, Gwendolyn, Tyler, McKenna, Maddox, Dimitri, Anthony, Alexandra, Madison and his newborn great grandson Lucas, born on his birthday, and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Joe is predeceased by his daughter Catherine M. Thibault (Oliver), his brother Herbert Thibault and sisters Jeanette Vietri and Doris Dowd.

I have not had the privilege of seeing my cousins in the Thibault family for many years. I remember Cousin Adolphe, his parents, his older brother, Herbie, and his son Michael, from childhood. Blessings to the family in your loss,
