Linda was simply the best. She was smart, loyal and funny . One of her very best qualities was her attitude. She sent me a quote when she found out she had cancer The devil wisphered in my ear; you are not strong enough to bear the storm. I said , I am the storm. That was my nickname for LindaStorm. She fought so hard to get through this cancer. We planned to go to Hawaii to celebrate her wellness and to see her brother. She always looked forward always.I miss her.

Linda and I were the best of friends when we were growing up together in the 7th Street neighborhood of North Canton. She was Wendy to my Peter Pan, Jane to my Tarzan, Dale Evans to my Roy Rogers. When my older brother refused us admission to his club of older kids, we made our own club and built our own private clubhouse. I remember it all as a kind of eternal summer of softball games and bicycle rides, puppet shows and board games, and those are memories I have carried with me always. We stayed in contact and spoke on the phone on those rare occasions when I returned home to Ohio. In these later years, she never failed to wish me a happy birthday via email, or inquire about my safety when she heard about fires or mudslides in California. She kept me informed about her medical condition, but rarely spoke of her pain or difficulties, and her passing, while it registered with me as sudden and sad, was not completely unexpected and is even in some sense welcome because it releases her from pain. I think I will always remember her as the little girl I see in the picture I sent her shortly before her death, holding hands with me in my family's backyard, in that eternal summer. Rest in peace without pain, my sweet friend.

I had been chatting periodically with Linda on Facebook, and I admire the strength and positivity she embraced. I will have many fond memories of my cousin.

Great memory of taking my students (one of whom was Linda) to a journalism workshop in Cleveland when they were in high school. Sweet, gentle young lady.
