I had the pleasure to know and serve with Mr. Powell through my membership with the American Legion and as a member of the Va. Dept. of Va. Finance Committee which he chaired for a number of years. He was a true Virginia Gentleman and reminded me so much of my Dad. His wisdom and knowledge was an asset to all with whom he worked and associated with. He was very soft spoken, but got his point across and would always add at the end "and things like that".

Our condolences goes out to the Powell family. I am sorry that we will not be able to attend the service but know our heart will be with you all.

American Legion Post 79, South Hill
