John ran marathons for Team in Training in his 70's raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He was such an inspiration to our younger runners and walkers encouraging them at our training sessions. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

When I started as a new law clerk at the Court of Appeals, Judge McCormac made it a point to introduce himself and ask me about my having listed birdwatching as a hobby on my resume. In the next few years, we had great conversations about birds and about where one could see them in Central Ohio. He was such a kind person, and so humble while still being a recognized authority and tremendous resource of legal knowledge for me and countless others. His civil procedure book has gotten me through many a puzzling problem. I am so glad to have known and worked with him, and grateful that he raised a son to also love nature and birdwatching and whose insights are a "must read" in our house every Sunday. My deepest condolences to the entire McCormac family. He was one-of-a-kind and we were all blessed that he walked (and ran) among us.

John was one of the kindest, brightest and most unassuming individuals I have known. His love for Jesus propelled him to serve many in countless ways. I can remember being at John's and Martha's house in my early 20's as a brand new follower of Christ and being impacted by their warmth, hospitable spirit and quiet leadership. I look forward to seeing this brother in heaven, and I hope he will share with me much of his "Renaissance Man" knowledge and his multiple talents for the rest of eternity! Martha, Mike, Patrice and the rest of the family, all of you are in my prayers.

John was such a wonderful, sweet man. He loved the Lord, his wife, and his children, and grandkids. It was a joy to lead a home church with John and Martha many years ago. I know he is with the Lord; however, he will be missed.
