I want to offer my condolences to Stew's family and loved ones. I worked with Stew at channel 10 in the 80's and always loved the energy and excitement he showed every day at work. I wanted to make it to the Celebration of his life today and I was unable to make it due to work. I offer my love and prayers to all of you who will miss him terribly-
Sincerely, Cindy Straub

I'd lost touch with Stew, but remember him well as a top journalism student at Ohio Wesleyan. He was a joy that inspired my first years teaching full time. Grace and peace to family and friends.

Doubly sad that someone who so embraced the gift of life we're given has left this world. My deepest condolences to Stew's family and friends. Stew earned my respect, and now, unfortunately, a place in my memories. God bless you Stew. I know your energy lives on through Him and all whose lives you blessed.

I once saw Stew race down a steep hill to administer first aid to a person who had been hit by a car. He was flying. When the incident started, I was right next to him and I was running down the hill also, but by the time I got to the scene, Stew already was stopping the bleeding with an improvised bandage. This is a memory that speaks to who Stew will always be. Ready for action, concerned for other. A truly compassionate soul. He is loved by me and many, many others.
