Marilyn,
We just heard the news about Carl and our hearts are breaking. We have such wonderful memories of times spent with the Malmgrens!!! Would love to visit with you but the phone number I have is not in service. Love and hugs to all of you. Hope to be present at the memorial service.

Some of my favorite LUM Camp memories are with Pastor Carl. I loved him sense of humor and laid back attitude at camp. He will be greatly missed and will hold a special place in my heart. I want his family to know the impact he left on others. I'll never forget him.

My husband and I knew Carl through the Baptist Student Foundation at Purdue. He was welcoming and kind and made students feel like they belonged. Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers for the family.

Carl was a wonderful man and I know he will be greatly missed. I have many precious memories of him and his leadership while he was Pastor of FBC Lafayette. Went on a wonderful ski trip by train to Colorado. He was a pillar of strength and faith as we went through the tumultuous process of adoption of our daughter 27 years ago. And once when our daughter was 2 I was with her in Texas at my in laws and my husband was on a ski trip with Carl in Vermont and our daughter became ill. I was a complete mess and Carl had a group prayer with me on the phone. She turned out to be fine with some antibiotics but I have never forgotten the calm (but always humorous) presence he had. Marilyn, Laura, Seth and families I am praying for you, thinking of you and although your loss is very great I also know you know how blessed you were to have him. I will miss you Carl!
